Opal Solitaire Ring

Clear stones all look the same after a while.

An oval opal tone stone on a slim gold band does not. Under the afternoon light on your desk it runs pale pink. Under a bar's warm bulbs it goes lilac, with tiny flecks that seem to switch on. Prongs hold it low enough to sit against a plain band without rubbing. Small and quiet from arm's length, alive from up close.
